ABOUT ME

Hello and welcome to my site! My name is Evan Derrick from a place called the Tri-Cities in Eastern Washington. I have been sequencing MIDIs for many years now and it has been a hobby of mine that I enjoy very much. I began working with MIDI at a young age. My father was in a local band consisting of himself on bass, a guitarist and sometimes a drummer. The rest of the instrumentation was provided with MIDI. My father began by sequencing these files himself using Band-In-A-Box or Cakewalk, but eventually decided to let me try sequencing one of his songs for him. We both found out my talent for this as I sequenced more files and became independent of any companion software that generated pieces of the music for me. I found that by sequencing the files from scratch I could make the sequences sound as close to the original as can be accomplished with digital music. I have worked with other musicians as well including Adam Gosdin, the brother of the famous counrty singer Vern Gosdin. Sequencing is something that I have a unique talent for and I believe my sequences are on par with any commercial MIDI site out there, but please, you be the judge.
ABOUT THE SITE

In a way, this site could be considered Silver Dollar Sequences 2.0. When I was in high school, I created a webpage called Silver Dollar Sequences where I would post my files online for people to use. I updated this site as often as I could, and constantly received positive and encouraging feedback from everyone that visited. After graduation, I had a full-time job plus college full time which cut back on my MIDI sequencing time. Yet people still left their encouraging comments which has inspired me to create this website and online store. For those of you who remember the old site and commented, you have my gratitude. Before the creation of this site, I contacted several commercial MIDI sites to request a position sequencing songs for them. Due to their policies preventing them from hiring outsiders I was rejected. They told me how good my abilities were but that they had no place for me. So I have created this site in an effort to share my sequences with the public in hopes that MIDI-using musicians can find enjoyment and MIDI accompanyment for their musical endeavors.
ABOUT MY MIDIs

All of the MIDI files on this site were created from start to finish by me and me alone. I am a one-man team with no partners or employees. I use Digital Orchestrator Pro and Voyetra Record Producer to sequence all of my files. They have embedded data that I use as a footprint in all my files to indicate that the files are actually mine. All tracks are in a standard format with Melody and Harmony in tracks 1 and 2 followed by Lead Guitar(s), Bass and all accompanying instruments following after with Drums always as Track 10 (some of my earlier sequences do not follow this format, but there are very few of those and they can be changed after ordering if need be). I use a Roland Sound Canvas SC-55 sound module for all my sequences which supports both GM (General MIDI) and GS (General Standard) tones/instruments.
